Who We Are
The Independence Public Library is located at 175 Monmouth Street in downtown Independence, Oregon. The Independence Public Library provides free services to all City residents and to those who live within the service boundaries of other Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service (CCRLS) member libraries. Basic circulation services are also available to those who live within the CCRLS district boundaries but outside of a member library's service area. Library circulation services are available to all others for a fee.
The Independence Public Library is a member of the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service, sharing materials and services within Polk, Yamhill and Marion counties.
The Independence Public Library's collection includes more than 40,000 books, plus audio and video materials in multiple formats. Library users also have quick access to more than a million titles through our Regional catalog. We offer access to the Internet through the Library’s fiber-optic connection, and provide Wi-fi service for those who prefer to use their own computer.
